So I was running low on disk space yesterday so I deleted 4gb worth of files. Now I was just informed that my comp is running low on disk space and I see that i'm left with only 120 mb. Help would be nice.
This kinda sounds like your Hard Drive might be on its last leg? Have you tried looking up the hard drive's actual storage capacity & how much of it is in use by right clicking on the drive & selecting properties? If the sizes are inaccurate or sizes change values erratically then it might be time to make a backup of all your important files & get a new Hard Drive before it's too late.
That's the plan, I don't have enough to buy a new one just yet but hopefully I'll have enough to buy a new one next month. I restarted my computer and the memory was back to normal. I was updating windows so that may have had an effect on it. The size doesn't change erratically just loses or gains 1 mb every now and then if im not downloading anything or what
1MB may be small by today's standards by a 1MB fluctuation may be indicative as well. Just keep backups of important stuff on DVDs or CDs & you'll be alright until you can get a new Hard Drive.
May be you could try turning off your status updates. Some programs automatically download a ton of features, especially of you have antivirus software actively on.
