I want to record ps2 video onto my computer using the Video capture usb grabber that just arrived today. The only problem is, is that the color is missing, and I think it's got something to do with it being PAL or NTSC. I played around in the settings in Ulead Video Studio 8 and still, it only shows black and white. Just some info, I'm using composite cables in AU. I bought this specific one: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/AV-Cable-USB-VHS-TV-to-DVD-Capture-Card-S-Video-Grabber_W0QQitemZ360109406740QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Components?hash=item360109406740&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A1|39%3A1|240%3A1318
Yeah, it's chipped. It's a PAL PlayStation and the game is probably most likely an NTSC game since it's Japanese. Any help?
nope, it's black and white because the PS2 cannot decode the colour information in the game, i.e you're playing an NTSC game on a PAL PS2. Nothing to do with the video capture at all.
So...what you're trying to say is that it won't be able to record in color, no matter what software I use?
hey, I just came across this item on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330305315729&ih=014&category=15122&ssPageName=mem_guide:4&rd=1 will this fix my problem? using pal ps2 with ntsc game inside in Australia.
is it black and white when you play on a tv? pal or ntsc should make no difference i used to play ntsc games on my pal ps2 all the time and never had any problems on my tv
I can see color on my games whether it is pal or ntsc on my TV. It only goes black and white when i want to connect it to my computer through the usb video capture device. That's why I was thinking that maybe that product on eBay might decode the colors correctly.
have you tried a pal game on this recording software yet? is it just the one game or is it all ntsc games and do the pal games display correctly
