my ps1 console suddenly stopped reading ang spinning the game

    my ps1 console suddenly stopped reading ang spinning the game. while i was playing valkyrie profile, my ps1 suddenly stopped spinning and the lens stopped functioning.. when i restarted my ps1, the laser and the motor stoped functioning.. no spinning and laser movements.. then i opened up my console, pressed the little switch on the upper part of the board and tried to play the game again, but no matter how many times i press the switch, it just wont work.. it makes a sound when i press the switch, this happened before but i functioned back after how many days.. could this be and IC problem? i hope its not.. its so hard to find those pieces.. pls help me on troubleshooting my ps1.. any idea why it stopped?

    id like to buy a new one, but its too expensive for me, i cant even buy ps2 right now.. thats why im still using this ps1 of mine.. its pass 10 years with me.. yet its still functioning at its best until yesterday.. thats why i hate what happened, im about to finish valkyrie profile..

    If you have a desktop or laptop,you can play it much better than ps1..
    I think PS2 is cheap right now... :)

    What the-how can a ps1 can be expensive-2 hours of work in standard retail in aus (approx $20 an hour or less) easily get a ps1...


    Ps2's cost more, but only by about $50-60 bucks for a "phat boy" as the cash converters dude said XD


    But...I would say get epsxe 1.7.0-Convert your pc (provided it has decent specs-if it uses vista it may have enough) to a psx!


    That's what I'm using-heh why bother buying anything when you can have it free...


    But if you love that ps1-find a console mod-repair shop...


    But it may be cheaper for a new console-what country are you in, surly they can't still be charging top dallar for outdated ....game consoles (almost said something bad about something I emulate LOL)

    im from the philippines.. its really hard to find ps1 consoles here and ps 2 and 3 cost a lot here.. i use emulators but i really love playing them on my ps1

    Well,at my place ps1 is rarely to be seen now..just buy ps2... :)

    haha.. something happened while i was troubleshooting it last night.. dont know what happened but its working as fine as before.. ;D
