i was just trying to download some ISOs for DreamCast and i click the North American Server. and an error page came up and i couldn't download the iso. so i tried a few more times and still i couldn't download it. then i went the the home page and realized that about 2000 of my points had been eaten for games i haven't even downloaded. does anyone know how i can get my points back???

ermm, ouch. 2000 points. I don't think you're likely to get them back unless Seph can confirm there was a problem. Let's see what the boss says. What was the error code or what did it say?

you won't have lost 2000 points unless you've tried to download a lot of different games.

it will only deduct points once per game per 24 hour period.

I can't replicate the error, it never happens to me so it's very hard to debug, I've tried 3 different browsers now and it's always the same, if you get this problem then PM (very important! Don't post it publicly) me the download link so I can get some more data.

As for the points being eaten, that's impossible due to how the download script works.

It does a check in the download log and if the game has not been downloaded in the last 24 hours by your user id then it checks if you have enough points, if you do then it allows it and takes the point, and then afterwards the download is inserted into the download log, so the only scenario where that can happen is if your browser makes multiple requests for the file milliseconds after each other, and on top of the it has to request the entire file instead of just a segment since our script is smart enough to detect if it's a download manager using multiple connections.

I find it very unlikely that will happen, and if it does then there's really nothing we can do to prevent it.
