My new laptop [file problem]

    I just got my new AlienWare in today, One of the first things I download was emulators and roms, the emulators work perfectly but the roms keep ending up looking like executable files and the emulators won't recognize them... The files apear as .exe's but still have the .rar in the name, but I can't do anything with them... :-\

    Did you install Winrar?

    I just noticed that... No I don't have WinRAR, but I thought it was suppossed to come with all Windows programs. ^_-

    no, winrar does not come with windows or any other program, it is a program in its own right. download it from www.rarlabs.com

    As to the computer seeing rars as executables, that is not something I have encountered before and my best guess is something has messed up your file extensions, in which case installing winrar will restore it.
