my computer is unstable and freezes with blue screen or annoying beep sound (Packard Bell) so I have found out more about my computer using the manual but I cannot load the recovery menu i open smart restore program in safe mode and click on Packard bell recovery and asks for a restart but it boot normally after even through it should boot the recovery menu and i tried press F11 for the alternative boot as it says in my manual but again normal boot the only difference noticed during this is a new hard drive appears on the my computer page called F: BACKUP. Can anyone tell me whats wrong with the recovery menu and how i could fix my computer ask any questions if necessary
I know that but its apposed to use the files automatically to open the recovery menu and you should only see it after the recovery menu has worked but nothing else changes
Did you not get or create a recovery disc when you got the PC.I have a recovery partition also,and I cant boot into it either,I just run the recovery disc. You could contact HP and ask if theres any button combinations to launch a recovery....
nope just the built in recovery menu does the new windows 7 disc's format the hard drives with upgrading
