    Hey, I ordered my swap magic, and I figured before it got here I should iron out all the new processes and procedures for making discs. Now, I've been reading tutes for making ps2 dvds with power iso (DT and Alc120 have that damn vista sptd error), and read to burn at 1x-4x. Maybe 8. The lowest I can burn at is 16x. So, here's my question to start...

    Can I sucessfully burn ps2 games for swap magic 3.6 at 16x, and if not, can I download drivers for 4x burning?

    If you need what model my burner is, I need to know how to look it up.

    Thanks for any help

    PU

    i don't believe ANY burner has a minimum of 16X write speed....could you please give us some more info.

    1. PC model.

    2. burner model.

    3 burning software being used...

    those could help us assist you in burning at the proper write speed...

    okay. My PC is the HP media Center w/ vista home prem - number M8200n.

    My burner is (Under Cd.dvd rom drives in device manager) ATAPI DVD A DH16A3L SCSI CdRom Device. It also says "ultra speed" on the drive itself.

    I am using power ISO. Tried to install Alcohol and Daemon tools, but there is a glitch in vista that renders them in a constant cycle of nonexistent installation caused by a error in reading sptd.) I spent ten hours today precisely editing the registry to fix it but no dice. I am willing to dl and try any other program that does NOT use sptd.

    I Always felt Nero was a lot like Norton products in that it is far to intrusive and bulky of a program.
    I Really like a program called gBurner and have had 0 problems with it burning anything at any speed.
    On the other hand though i have never burnt a game with it.

    Hey loony does imgburn just do cvd games or dvd ones too?

    I hear nero's a tad shaky too. I also heard of DVD decrypter, but that needs MDS, and not all my isos have one.

    imgburn is great for burning pretty much anything. I've used it a lot to burn movies and such. It should work perfectly for burning games.

    I 18:19:20 Total Physical Memory: 6,124,484 KB - Available: 4,498,576 KB
    I 18:19:20 Initialising SPTI...
    I 18:19:20 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices...
    I 18:19:20 -> Drive 1 - Info: MATSHITA BD-CMB UJ141ES 1.00 (D:) (SATA)
    I 18:19:20 -> Drive 2 - Info: WD Virtual CD 070B 1032 (G:) (USB)
    I 18:19:20 -> Drive 3 - Info: WD Virtual CD 1110 2003 (E:) (USB)

    Use ImgBurn and burn the DVD at 4x-6x speed for a good burn of a game. If you burn faster than 4x, then you are running the risk of getting a dud. :p

    Yeah, according to wiki dvd speed is 10x as much, so i'm good.

    Oh and it says "verify speed" is going up to max speed. But the disc is already burned. Is this gonna hurt the game?
