As for Final Fantasy CC, you probably need to update your cheat database to the latest release and enable the piracy fix. You can find that on this thread:

Oh, you said you're using an Edge... I think there's a different fix with that cart. It seems that it's recommended that you only update your firmware to the latest version. Do you have the latest firmware?

I imagine that if the firmware updates the glitches for the GTA game, it might also fix the issues for the FF CC game.

One other forum I read suggested using the ARM7 and ARM9 patching method that other carts are using, but omitting the ARM7 patch.

Grand Theft Auto, China town wars should work with the latest EDGE firmware, v1.45

Make sure you have v1.45 for the Edge.
Delete any save files for the GTA game.

Then try to load the game.

 

I've yet to play Echoes of Time, but OS 1.45 does fix Chinatown Wars.

 

Right, you need to delete any traces of GTA off of your Edge card (including saved games), install the latest firmware, and then start with a fresh, unpatched download of the game.
