How does Mr. Resetti in Animal crossing know when you have turned off the game without saving? It should have no record of you playing at all if you don't save.
because it saves right after you you start the game/continue right away. (i think) edit: sort of like pokemon mystery dungeon when you enter certain caves, it can tell if you didn't save.
when you first go into the game it makes a save that you started up the game, then if you didn't save next time it know when you turn it on and there is no extra save from when you saved it.(a little confusing, but you should get the idea)
magic. or it just senses it through some feature of the game. perhaps it leaves junk data when you do not save. i still think its magic though....
