I need some help with windows movie maker. I spent like 3 days working on a video and when I try to save the movie file it says. "Windows movie maker cannot save the movie to the specified location. Please check that the original source files in your movie are still available..." This happened to my other computer and I never figured out how to fix it. I have windows 7 on the computer I am using now and this is the first problem I have encountered with it. The video I made is 2 minutes and 10 seconds. Can someone please tell me if there is some other program that can convert movie maker projects into video files or some other way to fix this Thanks
movie maker really isnt a good program. try virtualdub. (the programs I use are very expensive and not for beginners).
yes but its all i have right now. I dont feel like getting a new program and starting all over. although I do have Kino for Linux.
Try this, Put all the clip and sound or any related files(the one you use to make the movie) into a folder(make new one),and save it to that folder...
No that didnt work because the music files got red X's on them because they werent in the original folder. I moved the music files back to the original folder and left the movie files there since they didnt get any red X's but I still got the same problem.
the source files must be completely intact and in the same location that they were in when they were added to the project. the timeline doesn't contain the files, only references to them, so if it cant find them where they were then it wont work.
i moved any files except for trying to put them on my desktop in a folder like you said but i moved them back since it didnt work. It still doesnt work. Maybe it has something to do with my RAM on my computer
No, no, no. Put all of your files you used to make the movie in one folder. Open up the movie project in WMM (Movie Maker) and look at the timeline. If you have red X's, right-click them and choose "Browse for File." The files should be located in that nifty folder you made. After locating all files, you should be able to successfully save your WMV movie.
