Mother 4 - THE Fan game!?

Hi, guys, just popped in for a quick visit.

One of my real life friends stumbled upon these Youtube videos & literally went nuts on me so I had to check 'em out.

After seeing these my interest got piqued, but I was skeptical if this Fan Game was real or a hoax. So I did a quick Google research & found the project's main site:

And if you look at the top-most news entry, it seems the project maybe real after all! Seeing the site is not a dead one, that is they are accepting fan submissions as to what could be added to the game.

However, most they've shown are still photos, not much real in-game action, so yeah it still maybe questionable.

But still, this is an awesome news for two reasons:

1. As a Mother series fan myself it'd be awesome to play a fourth game to the series as Mother IS one of the greatest RPG franchises out there!

2. A project like this being worked on but the true owners of the franchise (Nintendo) not being bitchy FAGS! about it like how Square-enix was with Chrono Compendium. And to think, Nintendo has more authority over game copyrights since they are an extremely well established company, where as Square-enix with no consoles of their own & are just a well established games development company known for their games.

I just hope the people who are making this Fan game WILL ACTUALLY deliver & are not just messin' with us

 

I agree with both of your reason CRV,
after playing all three games of Mother, I hope this one will be a will be delivered, and not just a rumor.

and even if it's true, I hope they make some improvement to the game, like the game graphic, and gameplay.
anyway, this is a good news for me and to other Mother Fans out there.

 

Well I just thought that being both a games developer & a console maker Nintendo would guard their franchises heavier than Square-enix would & they'd go after people who makes games like this blatantly using their materials without consent. But oddly, they did not.

 

I'm not really a fan of the Mother Series, it's pretty cool that someone is trying to make a 4th game though, I just hope that if he finishes the game, people won't over-hype then be disappointed by it. Worst thing people can do is tear into him the second he releases the completed game because it wasn't up to their expectations.

 

True, hopefully he does deliver the goods.

If you look at the comments on his preview videos he seems to be taking people's comments into consideration, but until a demo is released we really can't say how good his project is.

Come to think of it...

Because of what you said, I suddenly remembered Girogex A. K. A. monter who had most of us razzled back in the day LOL!
