MOTHER 3 TRANSLATION PATCH IS FINISHED AND OUT!!!!

Just released today is the Mother 3 translation patch by the Mother 3 Translation Project team. (duh)

In case you didn't know, Mother 2 was known as Earthbound in the US, and was a very very highly regarded and popular RPG for the SNES. Mother 3 was the sequel to that but was only released in Japan on the GBA, and was never translated over to the states.

This team has been working on this translation for a very long time now and it is finally out and believe me, for those in the circle of Earthbound fans, this is huge news.

Feel free to visit the website http://mother3.fobby.net/ and download a copy for basically any operating system you have. Of course, you have to have the original japanese ROM of the GBA game, which is not supplied by the website but is fortunately supplied somewhere very close to you.

I've been playing this for the past few hours and I've enjoyed it thus far. I'd say it was worth the wait.

the rom should be able to be used even with the 3-1 plus and gbaexploder 5.8b

the cyclo is in experimental 3-1+ support.

is there a full translation for GBA mother 1+2?

may i be directed to information on translating games? google does a decent japanese to english translate. maybe i'll give it a swing. i could be way off with the little i know of how to do this type of work.

we have it as a 1+2 download (j) on gba, i was asking about a translate for that.

plus it seems that the romu page link for that is broken.

@fallenleader: The translation for Mother 1+2 for GBA is still currently being worked on by the guys who did this Mother 3 translation, if the link previously given doesn't work anymore try this one from RHDN:

You could just play Mother 2 on the SNES which is actually Earthbound & Mother 1 which was for the NES & was given the title "Earthbound Zero" by the guys who translated it to english. They're both hosted by RomUlation

 

yeah, but its a pain to change files on my xbox (original) due to cat5 cable distance. the data needs to be FTP'd because its modded.

and putting an emulator on my ds seems a bit of a hassle.

its ok, im semi-semi with the game. im satisfied with the mother 3. looks good but not sure how much i'll want to play an older version. ??? weird cuz i like playing series from start to finish.

translation looks really good though, mom irritates me, i want my pj's

Hey just because the SNES & the GBA are old relics it doesn't mean they're garbage now

I'm sick of people like you who call themslves gamers but only rely on the new stuff, boy have you missed alot of great classics... tsk tsk.
