Can anybody give me a list? What songs gives you a tear drop on your glass eye? Meaning even if though you don't cry that easy, that song melts your heart, or even give you a tear or two.
I Will Wait For You From a French musical (The Umbrellas of Cherbourg) It's been covered by many singers, and was even in that super depressing Futurama episode with Fry's dog. (D Oh, a list from Spike: http://www.spike.com/blog/top-11-most/73102
Try "The Dumbing Down of Love" by Frou Frou. And Jeff Buckley's "Hallelujah" is pretty depressing too.

Bartender Song-Sittin' at a Bar (Rehab) Red Water (Rehab) Cancer (My Chemical Romance)(even sadder when you watch the video)
Nick Drake always pulls me out of reality and into a sentimental mood. Poor guy died in his 20s from an anti-depressant overdose. Before that he used to disappear for days, was hospitalized for a nervous breakdown and became unsociable with his friends. Talk about a sad reality. Also, Elliott Smith has dozens of heartbreaking songs about drug addiction, unrequited love, and just generally wanting to kill ones self for an undefined reason. Another sad soul, lost early due to supposed suicide. XO throws all sorts of "dirt" in my eyes.
It's sad because he died not too long afterwards. The Gary Jules cover of Mad World may be overrated, but it kinda makes me sad or depressed.

Not only that, just watching the video and seeing his frail condition and the combination of old photos and his wife. Ugh, it just makes me cry. I'm not even a Cash fan and this is definitely the most powerful song I've heard.
