Anyone get this game on the day it was released or a little after? Im thinking of getting this for Christmas to play on my PS3, but i want to know what you think... is it worthy enough for my $60?

EDIT: Anyone please tell me if its worth getting...

This tread is empty because of a reason. If you havent figured it out yet the game blows chunks. It was a bad idea and it should be picked off the shelf, stabbed, stomped on, farted on ,burnt, put the ashes in a jar, and blow the jar up.

It doesn't suck ass, it's not THAT bad, but definitely not worth the 70$ or whatever. If you want it, wait for the Platinum release.

I agree, wasted my cash purchasing that game. Has too little characters, the character design does not look good and lacks more game modes.

How was the story mode though? It looked cool in the videos, but now im doubtful

Not much of a story, and basically all you do is just fight.

If you realy, and I mean REALY, want to try it out then I guess renting is your best bet. I mean you would probably be board before the game is due but its better than buying the game and regreting it moments after. You are right about the game having SOME good merits like the graphics but that will only last for so long. When you get down to it the reason that people get hooked is because of the game play and re-play value and this game dosnt have, or has VARY LITTLE, of thouse. If you feel the opposite way alfter you play it then we wont hold it against you ;) ,but you should try it befor buying it.

I dunno the details about it, but it's nothing big. It's not as violent as the other ones, there are only 20 characters I think (ten for each side), bla bla bla.

The Platinum release is a cheaper version of the game. Once it reaches a certain score on sales, it becomes a Platinum. Oblivion went Platinum, it now costs 30€ instead of the usual 60€ or 70€, for example.

Oh alright thanks for the info jin and renji.. I guess i might rent it, and then buy the platinum version.. I thought the story mode had potential too...

Nope, just small cut scenes of them talking which to be honest isn't very interesting, and then fighting.

If you want a fighting game for the PS3, try Soul Calibur 4 or Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm. Both are much better than MKvsDC.

Yeah I got the Soul Calibur demo, and its super fun! I should get that instead, and Im not that interested in Naruto but that game looks cool!!

It's much better than MkvsDC, even if you don't like the series.

Soul Calibur 4 is a good game, although I've passed on the Naruto one. Ultimate Ninja 3 on PS2 has more replay value IMO, and Ultimate Ninja 4 will finally go past the timeskip.
Also, MKvsDCU isn't that bad of a game. I played it at MCM and quite enjoyed it, but I think it would be better to rent it first and form an opinion that way.

So i could rent MKvsDCU but buy Soul Calibur or Naruto... alright thanks for the advice guys

One more piece of advice is that you shouldn't expect Soul Calibur 4 to be on the same level as Soul Calibur 2. While it is better than number 3, it still has less replay value than 2. And the online play had really bad lag when I tried it, so I haven't used it since.

So should I get Soul Calibur 2 first?

No. That comment is only relevant if you've played Soul Calibur 2.
