OK, so my names Squigs G, I think most people will have figured that one out already. I've been surfing Romulation for a month or so now and been reading a few of the threads that jump out in the five or ten minutes I get to sit down at the computer.

I'm 33 and a Stay at Home Dad in the UK, which should mean I actually have loads of time to spend on the computer, but unfortunately the opposite appears to be true.

I've been gaming for years now, initially starting off with the NES and progressing through pretty much all the Ninty consoles up to the current Wii. My favourite console of all has to be the N64 and thanks to that well known auction site I've managed to rebuild my collection which was lost once upon a move.

Since getting our DS a while ago I've been interested in the R4 phenomenon and finally managed to get some straight talking people to put me in the right direction. It was then I was referred to this site and all I can say is a big thankyou to them for doing so.

I've downloaded quite a few games which cover all genres but I'm particularly into my puzzlers and platforms. As a result of downloading these I'm quite keen on giving something back to the site and noticed that one appreciated way of doing this is through posting a review.

Now, being a bit slow on the uptake, many of the games I've been playing are the more outdated ones and I was wondering if reviews on these would still be appreciated (assuming there isn't already one) or considered a waste of time where a comment would have been more appropriate?

Well, back to the housework, and thankyou Romulation and all who sail in her for a great site.

    Squigs.

Welcome to the Forums. There are a few double etc. reviews, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't submit anything that's already been posted.

Welcome to RomU, Squigs. I'm looking forward to you being an active member of the forums.

Like you, I started out on the NES as well. It's still one of my favorite systems. I liked the N64 as well, but I still to this day don't understand why the big "N" chose cartridge based games over CD based ones. Oh well, welcome to RomUlation.

I actually chose the N64 over the PS because of the solid state cartridge. No scratches, quicker loading and unlike the original PS games, my carts are still going strong! I wonder if there will ever be a case for returning to solid state over CD. Let's face it, with the price of a 2 Gig Pen Drive being as low as it is, what's to stop manufacturers using this medium over the CD?

Different type of memory; PROM is much more expensive than flash, but its faster and has a longer lifetime. Plus theres the expense of the PCBs.
