Hey there, I am having some problems with Moonshell on the R4. Moonshell is giving the reading error when I click on the multimedia icon.

I've downloaded the 1.14 firmware straight from R4DS's site and followed the instructions on the CD for installation. I've reformatted the microsd multiple times and drop and files the files from the firmware multiple times and I am still having . All games load and play fine but Moonshell DOES NOT work.

    I am using a 512mb microsd, 1.14 firmware.

    Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

I put Moonshell on the root folder along with 3 R4 files.

In total of 4 files altogether.

That's not what I am looking for. I want to use this program. There are many R4 users that use Moonshell without any issues.

Anyone with first hand experience regarding installation with Moonshell on R4's?

A walk through would be great because I want to use this program.

i have this exact same problem, and its quite odd too because i put the r4 firmware on around 4 or 5 similar-brand 2gb microsd cards, yet it works on the other 3 cards and not on that 1 card that i just happen to use for testing new games...

i used the same process when copying the firmware to the microsd cards too... oh well i try to reinstall firmware i guess...

My Moonshell used to not be able to load on my R4 until I tried reformatting the microSD card to FAT32. Silly me... :p

hmm thats interesting, did you have it working on an earlier firmware? try downloading the previous firmware and see if that works, if it does then it may be the firmware thats glitchy, if not then its probly your card.

I've used the 1.13 and 1.14 firmware. Moonshell has been responding the same. I will reformat to FAT32 when I get home and reinstall and see if it works.

Try adding the v1.15 firmware. :p
It probably won't work, though. It worked for me once I FAT32ed the card. :(

    Here's an update....

I've added a few song's and Moonshell seems to be working but I am STILL getting that error message when loading Moonshell.

    This is the error msg,

"An error was detected while trying to access the disc or a file. Please confirm the following:

Did the set up end normally?
Is the "/moonshl" folder moved or deleted?
Have you enable the resume function with a media that is not supported?
Do you have enough free space on your media?
Please re-format the media and try again.
Please try with diff media from another manu.

    ............................

So at this point, all songs load and play fine but the error message is still an annoyance.

So i think it does't really matter much as long as you can listen music with it

This happened to me before, but at first (when clicking the second icon - music) when I click on it, it says that it can't read Moonshell, but then it proceeds onto the music section and still plays music perfectly. :-\

If it is stuck there, then you have a problem. It's just a feature.
