Exactly what the title says. After 30 minutes of activity, my monitor turns off. But the system works perfectly. What may be causing this?

Just change the duration that the screen is on.

Nope, That's not it. I already set my monitor to never go in standby.
And I use the computer, not that I let it without touching it. I tried switching the Computer AC cable with the Monitor's but no luck.
Also tried the RAMs. Changed their position in countless ways and nothing. Changed the position of the Audio card too. Jiggled the AC cables. Nothing

Did you try smacking it with your fists?

Beating on it until it worked?

If all else fails. That's what I resort to. I yell and hit stuff if things don't work.

    I was being serious.

I do that to my DVD drive if makes funny noises. The problem is fixed then.

I really don't know what else to say other than try and keep at it.

Maybe there is a setting in the monitor that turns it off?

it might be the bios setting overriding the windows setting.

Was the computer doing this before you installed any programs of late?

    When did it exactly begin?

its the bios overiding windows settings
you either need to install new bios or flash and upgrade to a newer bios version

Still gonna ask the same thing. Could you link me to a tutorial? btw the comp is on for 40 minutes and no turning off has occured. Could it be the overheat of the Video Card? Note that I inserted a new fan alont to the other one I had

It maybe the video card still giving you trouble. Or have you gotten a new one?

  14. rock91

    rock91 Well-Known Member

No new card. Btw 2 minutes ago the computer just froze. I was listening to music and the music just looped. The monitor didn't turn off. The comp just froze. I touched the Video Card and it was just a bit warm. As in when you blow hot air from the mouth. So Video card excluded. What else?

Just keep the harddrive and salvage the computer for scrap if you're getting a new one.
I took apart my Mom's work computer because they were going to throw it away (it fried. :p ) and I upgraded my computer a lot. :)
