Monitor connection?

    where you get the monitor connection (the purple connector)? Im searching on it all over a pc building website but i cant find it.. Is it attached to the graphics card itself?
    This may be a stupid question. But i know next to nothing about PCs

    purple is usually keyboard, monitor is blue (VGA) or white (DVI). and yes, the socket is on the graphics card, and the plug is on a cable that comes with the monitor.
