Modern Warfare 2 lag!

Hi (yes, if you have read this already on another website i have copied and pasted it because these are the best possible words describing the matter)

Following the release of CALL OF DUTY: MODERN WARFARE 2, it has become blindingly apparent that Infinity Ward have FAILED to address the needs of the international community in that the online multiplayer component fails to provide an effective matchmaking system for Xbox 360 gamers.

FourTwoZero claims "the ability to connect to BEST connection rather than first available game, aka quickest match, is already built into the matchmaking". Any console gamer living outside of the United States however, will know that this 'best available' system is ABSOLUTE RUBBISH and simply DOES NOT WORK.

In its present form the matchmaking system CONSISTENTLY results in international console gamers (UK, Australia/New Zealand, Europe, Asia) being dumped into American hosted games, the result of which is EXCESSIVE LAG. This excessive lag is prohibitive to competitive online play, and erodes the enjoyment out of playing what is an otherwise awesome game.

We, the undersigned international gaming community, demand that Infinity Ward address the needs of their international customers by implementing a REGION FILTER for the ineffectual multiplayer matchmaking system currently in place.

Such a filter is already in place and works beautifully in Call of Duty: World at War (which was produced by Treyarch, not Infinity Ward), so surely such a system could be applied to Modern Warfare 2.

I have no problem connecting anywhere with my PS3, maybe it's just your NAT type?

 

My favorite part of warfare 2 is the online system. That have it down beautifully. Quick matches, quick host changes, and no lag. Maybe it is your connection. I have it going on ps3, but all my friends have an x-box. I've played it on 360 quite a few times it played smooth. I'm not calling you a liar, but it probably is your connection.

if you can't stop the lag get the new Battlefield. The graphics aren't as good, but I'm starting to like it better than modern warfare.

 

The graphics were designed like that for a reason, so it is compatible with the Destruction 2.0 system. If MW2 graphics used the Destruction 2.0 system, you might as well put your PS3 or Xbox on fire, cause the GPU will get blazing hot.

 

duzke, what country are you in and what is your net speed-I suspect it's you with the lag.

probably just him, although there were some lagging issues when the game FIRST came out due to the horrendous loading of the servers by the sheer number of players who got the game. They resolved this and added new dedicated servers. Notice that the PC version of MW2 DOES NOT CONTAIN dedicated servers, instead they use IW.NET which make the host of the game the dedicated server, fail huh? also because of this the person hosting the game, their PC has to make all of the calculations that the server normally would thus making the game endlessly laggy. Bring the dedicated servers back please! lol check out how many people are still playing MW(1) for PC due to the issues i just described.
