Does anyone know how to do this? Im sick of waiting for an emulator, my friend has hundreds of copied games I could be playing.
Ive never modded anything before so an idiot proof guide would be good.
    Thankyou.

You're gonna want a bigger hard drive if you want to play the games directly from the HDD. The one that comes in the Xbox is tiny.

Take it to someone who can weld an mod chip (yes you gonna have to pay) and then you'll be able to play burned disks.
The mod must be in hardware, not software.

Does it have to be hardware? Its gonna be hard finding the parts now, its years out of date.

    Thanks guys.;
Im moving house wednesday, xbox is packed so it gives me time to find an original splinter cell game before I mod it.
If you happen to come across anymore useful info please share.

The weak spot of a modify by software means is the fact that you need a HD dedicated to host the ISOs of the games, from what I know can't play burned disks without a mod chip welded in it.
The hardware modify is better if what you want is play burned disks, but if you find easier to haver a HD and save ISOs there, go by software mod.

So softmod won't play copied games?

You can't burn an image on a virgin disk (Empty disk or whatever you people call in English).
Can just save the .ISO ina a external HD and play by it.

I wonder if I can fit every single xbox game on a 1TB external drive....
a quick google tells me there is around 500 games. I may as well get a complete romset.

    What are you talking about!?

Softmodding an XBOX with this guide will allow you to play burned XBOX ISOs on a DVD-R with no problems at all. And that's from experience.

    Hmmm
From the softmodes I've seen you coudn't play burned disk, just the images hosted in a HD, but since you showed me this one, I will try this once I get a "guinea pig"
That's nice y'know, I never seen a soft mod working on to be able to play burned media.

The PS2, XBOX and the Wii are some of the few that can play burned ISOs after being softmodded.

Hmmm I was into modding PS2 back in 2005, on that time was just by hardware, on mine has the Matrix Infinity v. 1.93 modded chip.
    My PlayStation 2 is a SCPH - 77006 model NTSC | J
But I didn't know that it coulda be modded via software means.
But tell me, is it stable as the hardware way?

The main softmod, free MC boot, is uber-stable. Pretty much, you install it to a memcard and the PS2 boots it each time you turn it on and the card's inserted. It adds .elf files (the .exes for PS2 and many other consoles) to your main PS2 menu and allows you to run them from there. In this way, you can play games from harddrives and discs (with OPL and ESR, respectively)

There's an exploit with a james bond game and you can use any other exploit like swaps, modchip, etc to install it from an .elf file or burned disc.

Unfortunately MY SPCH-90001 can't install it but pretty much every other model can. I use swaps.
