first is you console actually a psone or a ps1 or psx secondly why do you want to shell out for a modchip when you can play ps games on the pc thirdly i'd suggest not chipping and going for the swap disc method with something like this http://discoazul.co.uk/breaker-pro-v1-1.html
hi, yes like your picture, well i knew about the disc swap thing you can buy, but wasn't sure how well it works, do you know if the disc you buy works well ? do i need any firmware or anything to add to my disc when burning games off romulation ? thanks for reply. lisab
the swap method works perfectly from what i know, and you don't need to do anything just burn and play
The swap trick thing can, in the long run add to lessening the lifespan of your console's reading mechanism. That's why having a modchip installed is better. Have you tried going to game retailers who have been noted as dealing with installing modchips, I think that maybe your only option.
makes no difference the lifespan is to do with the burnt disc not to do with the method it is loaded with
But to do the swap trick you force stop the reading mechanism from reading, open the disc mounting cover, take out the swap disc, put in your burnt game, close the disc cover & let the reading mechanism continue. Won't that add to your reading mechanism's wear?
If I'm not mistaken, when the Playstation was first introduced, Sony said that you could remove the game disc to listen to an audio cd while you were playing your game. Until you came to a part of the game that required a disc read, then you had to reinsert your game disc. I tried it and it worked, I didn't do it a lot though, because it became extremely annoying swapping discs. But I suppose that's why in later manuals Sony quit referring to doing it. That and most of the later game titles read from the disc constantly to reduce load time and because a lot of the later games were bigger and required more disc space.
