(Unfortunalty-because I saw the story on tv on a show called "today tonight" and since it's own site hasn't got the story listed, I used a simerlar story)

Anyway, on the today tonight, it mentions that mobiles emit radio waves (which we already know) but these could be dangerous overtime...

Of course-the particular radio waves also come from other devices-computers, stereo's, tv's etc...

Someone who lives in a technological life stlye has a good chance of getting brain tumas or even brain cancer!

(if that is the case I'm stuffed already)

Now one interesting mention of the show was the amount of heat it generates-from what I saw they used an infra-red heat viewer (not sure name-but gives cool predator look XD) that shown the heat...

The guy's head light up like a christmas tree!

Not only that-but they used a device that read's electro magnetic waves-they were dangerous levels of the stuff from the device.

SUre-micro waves radiate the same stuff-but keep in mind that mobiles are right next to your head-NOT an enclosed device that keeps most of the wafves isolated (not much-sure some escapes-but still...)

Could the mobile companies be doing what the cigerette companies did years ago-and be hiding the danger?

If this another story that they "made up" to generate ratings?

Personally-I knew it was true-I always get headaches from 1 1 minute call-and right now with my stereo going, laptop going, several device chargin on a normal night...my head is boiling-if I used a phone I might faint :(

(an exageration-but christ I'm thinking of shutting down a few devices early tonight-all going full boar for once-and this is how I felt before I saw this story).

    And-discuss...

(try to post evidence if real or not-and if anyone can locate the story that would help-the show's site lacks the story for some reason...)

Today Tonight and A Current Affair have absolutely no journalistic integrity whatsoever. They're simply fearmongers.

Correct-But I've always agreed with those whows-prehaps it's because I hate those who drive faster than me (hoon drivers) ,prehaps it's because I like to whinge XD

But thanks to your post-we have something a little more useful in the topic :)

we have more chance of death from the sun or global warming cause over the past few years the changes have been subtle and im sure even some people get withdrawal symptoms from no tri-band(cell phones) signal or and of that stuff

Most of your body heat is lost through your head, so that is why his head was bright on thermal imaging.

Mobile phones emit a maximum of 4W, well below any danger level. Whether you use a phone or not, the waves are still there.

I knew about the head heat-but the thermal image (thanks for reminding me) actually got hotter...

And the show sent the results to some doctor who specialises in radiation, yada yada-came out as bad for you over time if in large amounts-so it's total usage-not imediete...

It would help if I could locate the segment it's self-wether or not it's believed remains to be seen...

    No offence but...

1.Your still close to it to be affected

2.People who do that-especially on public transport-are annoying as hell-just like those who use thier phones like "boom boxes"

3.I imagine people doing that are talking to themselves

    4.Looks stupid.

And thus despite the fact I have one...I still hate mobiles...

    But any other ligitimate views?

Umm... they sure are dangerous if used on an aircraft. 8)

But well, it seems that it's safe as long as the mobile phone manufacturer keeps their products around the safety standards. I don't really get it though, they say it's safe but they recommend this and that to minimize exposure...
Something like this. But I think using handsfree is better, especially if you have unavoidable calls while driving.

That aircraft danger hasn't been confirmed, but in this case it's better to be safe than sorry.
