.MKV issues

    When I play my .mkv videos in VLC, the video would restart at random times, without any sound. It usually happens at the scene after. And if I click somewhere to fast-forward to that particular part, it instead goes to a part like 2 minutes before it. Also, what does "x264" mean?

    x264 is just the video stream encoder. More info here:

    Use a video player that doesn't suck.

    Is there any way to fix a broken MKV without redownloading the whole thing? The damn torrent took me 3 weeks to download.

    Your video is fine.

    What would you rather do, download a better player or redownload a big file for no reason?
