Okay, it's getting late at my place so I'm gonna shorten the story here. Using imgburn, writing in 1x speed, for my chipped ps1 (US version, I think), TDK CD-R, slow hard drive (lotsa viruses), Windows XP, using CD drive to burn, burning Legend of Mana, using this site for PSX ISOs and ROMs, got miscompare message from imgburn. Now what's miscompare, what it does, and the solution?
No idea... I turned off the "verifiy disc" option so that never happens. Prehaps it believes there is a disc error. I use the same brand disc as well... But I use 4x-it's for my chipped ps2. The guy who did it reckoned it's safer on the laser. Shouldn't bother it on 1x however-my best suggestion is to turn image verifiy and see what happens. Also..could try the disc in your psx and see if that runs.
It's seemingly normal... But I got the same thing with MegaMan X6. The game had problem loading the final area. The problem is either the miscompare or how it was burned.
does your CD burner support buffer underun prevention (if you don't know, tell me what the fastest burn speed it supports is, I can usually work it out from that, the speeds are probably printed on the tray cover) miscompare means when it checks the burn it finds that something was burned differently to how it is on the image. Usually that means the burn wont work, but not always. Some types of copy prevention or strange discs (such as PSX discs) can cause it and be perfectly OK
