Mini Ninjas multplayer link up problem

    I've been trying to link up two ds's running the mini ninjas rom and although both play fine on single player mode when i try to link them up for a multiplayer game neither ds can locate the other.
    One ds is using EDGE and the other is using a MARS card.

    Has anyone successfully been able to play this game on multiplayer using roms?
