What's shaking everyone? I'm DJ, that's D-J, got it memorized? Sorry, attempt at humor.

I know most of the questions that I'm going to be asked have been answered somewhere on this site but I have a difficult time sifting through all of the posts to find the answers that I need, so, if someone wouldn't mind helping me out a little bit.

I have: R4i v 1.4 (the website listed on the card is www.r4-v.com, if that helps)
    2gb SanDisk Micro sd chip.
    DS Lite.

Those are my specs. My questions are, do I need a start up file or something like that to get started playing games. I've been reading that there are some games that have anti-piracy measures and so on so I have no idea what files i need to get started.

Also, I'd like to know if it is possible to play Game Boy / Game Boy Advance games or Nes or Snes games on the ds with the r4 and use it as an emulator. If it is possible what type of file(s) would I need.

As for introductions, I live in a state shaped like a glove and it is almost as exciting as it sounds. I play soccer, and in the fall I will be trying out for the U.S. Virgin Islands National soccer team. They are the worst team in international history, but it's pro ball so it would be an excellent experience. I would say I have a terrible addiction to video games but due to the recent lack of funds and college debt collecting, I haven't been keen on the scene.

Thanks for the help, and links to other threads/posts are welcome, I'll take any help I can get.

    'Kay cheesy humor,me likey that!
To start playing games on an R4 you need to install the menu from here: http://haoheng.e11.163ns.com/downloads/EN.rar Put this in the root of your SD card. (make sure first that your SD card is formatted to FAT32!)
It is not possible to play GBA games on a DS without a memory extension wich you put in the GBA slot (that the DSi does not have) So GBA is not possible.
Snes and Nes however are able to be emulated on a DS
NESter DS and dSNES. Google it to download.
Hope this helped. Have a great time on RomU!

Thank you for the menu site :)

I believe I did it correctly and I have the extracted folder on the micro sd card. The card is formatted to FAT 32

Will I get the menu screen without any rom files because I tried to load the menu and I just get a black Loading screen and it never goes past that stage. Is there something that I am possibly missing?

Thank you again, forgive the nubness

I woulden't really know, i don't own a DSi or a R4. Ask in the 'Technical Help' section. They will look after you there.
