I am new so please excuse my stupidity. I downloaded a few games and used unrarx to turn them into nds files. The problem I am having is that when I then try to move them to the microsd card in the thumbdrive (1gig), it tell me there is not enough room. The card came with 8 game on it and I tried to delete some but I still get the error. I then tried to copy all files onto a 4 gig card and I was able to copy the nds game that I downloaded onto it, the problem then was that once I put it in the DS I get a "loading...." and thats it. I also noticed that when i unrarx a game from romulation, there is no .sav file. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

It depends on your flashcart, most create the save file before you load the ROM, some create the save file when you save in-game. Try redownloading the ROM, use Winrar http://www.rarlabs.com/ to extract them so you get the .nds extension ROM file, and then backup and then reformat your MicroSD and reinstall your firmware and then put the ROM on. Best to do it like that, fresh.

I use unrarx too and it works fine so that shouldn't be an issue.

Oh Mac, then try Stuffit Expander if you want, I think that already comes default with Macs though.

    Okay,
I plugged the microsd card into the Mac and erased it. I then went to the linfoxdomain website and downloaded the r4 v1.18 in english zip file. I then highlighted all 4 files and moved them over to the microsd card. I then created a new folder called games. This left me with three file folders _system games and moonshl. It left me also with _DS_MENU.DAT and _DS_MSHL.NDS (both have what looks like a piece of paper next to them). I then went to my desktop and took AMF bowling which I donwloaded and used unrarx to make into nds file and moved it into the memory stick Games folder. I then ejected the card and put it into the DS. When I turn it on I get the loading..... and nothing happends. I am just plain stupid or am I missing something. If someone can help me become father of the year, I would appreciate it.

So that means you extracted the firmware files from the archive, and the NDS rom from the archive correctly. Remember you don't need to have your ROMs in a folder, it just makes it more organised. You can try backing up (or not since you've just started?) and reformat your MicroSD and then place the firmware files straight onto the MicroSD with the .nds ROM. If that doesn't work, try using Stuffit Expander to extract everything maybe. If that doesn't work, there could be a chance your R4 is fake.
