    Hello,

I'm wondering on what an .mdf file is, and how would I use it? I just recently downloaded the Xenogears game for the PSX and got an .mdf and an .mds file. I really expected an .iso file but I got these and I don't know how to use them.

    Can someone please clarify?

.mdf and .mds files are images usually created by Alcohol 120%. They're just a different type of image, that's all. Just mount it as a virtual drive or whatever or burn it to a disc like usual. It depends on what you want to do with it.

Well I want to emulate it... Would that be the same as mounting?

You either can burn it to a CD then emulate of that or use a free program like Alcohol 52% to mount it.

I don't think ePSXe can natively read that format, you'd have to mount it using alcohol or daemon tools and then run it with the 'run cd' option.

Oh yes, forgot that epsxe can only load .iso and .bin and .img.
