I like both, plus other companies like Dark Horse, Image, Dynamite and so forth.

I should have put Dark Horse as well. I used to love HellBoy Junior

I'll be honest. My knowledge on DC and Marvel is terrible.

DC is pretty outlandish. One of the few purely human heroes - Batman - is stronger than I would imagine possible. And infinitely smarter. However, that outlandishness makes the death of a character very, VERY surprising. So the outlandishness can lead to very epic stuff.

Marvel seems a lot more grounded in reality than DC, though the stuff that happens is still very unlikely. And I just like things that are supernatural yet plausible.

The only character I liked out of DC that I know about is Batman. Mostly because he's the most human character out of anything I've seen from them. But even then he still knows every sort of kung fu, and is the smartest and most deceptive man in Gotham (except Bane is smarter). The enemies in Batman are also well done, Joker, Bane (who broke Batman's back once), Killer Croc, Scarecrow, The Penguin etc.

I've read two Batman comics (Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth), which was Arkham Asylum, it was pretty sweet. The art was abstract at times, looked cool and the story was that Batman was trying to stop Joker from taking over Arkham. Joker started telling Batman that he's the one crazy since he's the one dressed up in a Bat costume etc etc. It was pretty sweet. But I don't really expect nothing less from Frank Miller. Also Alan Moore made a great Batman comic called The Killing Joke, which is awesome too.

Actually DC comics is the publisher who published Alan Moore's stuff and it's the only American comic book I've read from either DC or Marvel so, yeah.

Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on a Serious Earth was written by Grant Morrison not Frank Miller, Frank done Batman Year One, The Dark Knight Returns and The Dark Knight Strikes Again. Arkham is very good, and Killing joke is one of my top favorites among many Batman comics/graphic novels I have.

D: I was confused by the amount of Batman comics on wiki and accidentally put Frank Miller.

Frank is one of my favorite authors, I have his Batman titles, 300 and Ronin and a couple Sin City.

Another title you should read is Batman:Hush by Jeph Loeb I actually just read it over the weekend it's very good.

If I'm not mistaken, The Dark Knight Returns was by Frank Miller, was the last graphic novel I read. Loved it.

The Joker by Brian Azzarello was a good read as well. I like the DC universe a lot. Even the mini-series ones, like Watchmen.

Yes we covered Frank Miller already.

I have The Joker too but have yet to read it, as well as The Greatest Joker Stories Ever Told...actually more I think on it there are more I have yet to read.

Have Watchmen as well, but for some reason I just did not like it, nor the movie I think maybe if I caught it when it originally came out I might have liked it better.
