    Mario is classic, but Luigi is classic AND an underdog, plus he jumps higher even if he can't stop on a dime.

    in the words of yahtzee, mario is just a tool for nintendo to make a heap of games, luigi is an actual character, his primary attribute being his scaredicatness (which makes him cooler).
