Mario and luigi Bowser\'s inside story

I'm using a mac version of Desume and I'm stuck at a part where i have to press down on a pipe at the beginning of the game, i press down but nothing happens, can anyone help me?

I got the cracked version but i'm still stuck on the pipe, no matter how many times i press down it doesn't work, please someone help me i'm about to go crazy.

Maybe there's somthing with the ROM itself, you sure you haven't encountered the problem at all?
