Making a modded PS2 Slim read the Second burned disc of MGS

Discussion in 'Non-Emulation Help' started by keybladesithlord, Jul 9, 2008.

  1. I am at the end of the first disc of MGS. I am prompted to insert the second disc, I do that but it says that the incorrect disc was inserted. What can I do?

Your probably didn't burn the second disc correctly. If you have a proper modded or chipped PS2, it should work like it would any other disc swapping game, like FFVII, FFVIII etc.

  3. I did the swap method with the second disc to see if it was burned correctly, it did load correctly. I tried to load the game from disc 2 and I was asked to insert disc 1. Again I did so but it still doesn't read it.

Burn the image again on a decent enough quality CD at the lowest speed. It also could be your modding of your PS2 is shit.

  5. I am using Phillips CD-R discs and burning them with Alcohol120% at 4x burning speed.
Are these good quality CDs? And is the burning speed okay or do I need to do it faster?

The slower you burn them, the better the game loading will be, as the image will be burned carefully and slowly. Yes, Philips are pretty decent. 4x is a good burning speed.

  7. Would you consider this modding shit?

Probably not, it's one of those free solutions, a proper modchip works great, the free ones aren't so good. I should know, I used the card trick on my PS2 phat, had to reset about 100 times to get one backup game working. I guess if you can play MGS on it, it's alright, not sure if it can handle discswapping.

You have to copy the "NO-CHIPS" part as well to make the link work.

  11. Oh well, I guess it can only handle one disc games. Where could I get my hands on this memor32?
EDIT: I researched this Memor32. How would saving my game help me make the disc swapping work? I could get the saved data for the second disc, but I wouldn't have the same items I currently have.
