I'm having a problem. occasionally, when attempting to play GBA Roms, I don't know why, the game freezes before I get to play them. when this happens one of three things will happen.

    1. the GameBoy logo appears, followed by a blank white screen.
    2. the gameboy logo appears, and stays there.
    3. the gameboy logo appears, but the nintendo logo is all fuggered up a la missingno.

I can tell when the game is going to freeze when the system takes longer than 40 seconds to patch/load/whatever. and looking into the GBA folder afterwards, I find a new file with the same name and the ".is0" extension. I don't know what this is or what to do with it.

I have tried removing some games, hearing that that the Real is prone to glitches when there are a lot of files, but to no avail.

please help me fix this so I can play pokemon and yggdra union in peace.

PS. I am only having this problem with GBA roms, DS games play perfectly fine.

Just curious, but you do have the GBA exp pack right?

Yes, this is the GBA expansion cart.

I believe I've found the issue... the cart was misaligned by about half a milimeter. I pushed in in deeper and it's been fine since.

You want the Code Manager from Datel:
    US version:
    http://us.codejunkies.com/nds_actionreplay/SetupUS1_05.exe
    Euro version:
    http://us.codejunkies.com/nds_actionreplay/SetupEU1_05.exe

    Now it gets easy :-D
Update you MicroSD card with the new firmware
    Install the Code Manager.
    1. Under Subscriptions right click Codejunkies US Games and select copy if you want all or just do this for games you want.
    2. Under My Codelists right click and select paste.
    3. Let it import the games into your codelist.
    4. Once it has completed go this folder:
    C:\Program Files\Datel\Action Replay Code Manager\local_codelists

Simply copy the XML file onto your M3, it can go anywhere you like (I put it in the System folder)

To use these cheats on a game you go into the settings menu of the game (where you can choose soft-reset etc.) and choose "Select File..." this will take you to a file browser where you can then find and select your cheat file.

Once you have selected the cheat file you can now go to the "Cheat" tab at the top of the screen and simply choose what cheats you want, when you have chosen your cheats, go back to the game settings make sure the cheat switch is set to on and then load the game.
