lost save data after updating r4

Hi, Sorry if this has allready been covered somewhere else on the site but i recently updated the r4 firmware to wood r4, i backed up all the games and saves on to my other micro sd card, when i transfered them all back again the save data did not show up on the ds games, i was wondereing if i need to tweek anything in the system setting of each game maybe.

Re-format your SD card and try again. ;D

 

Ie reformated it first of all and then did all the changes.

 

R4 uses .sav and wood r4 uses .nds.sav. You need a converter to get your save files from r4 to work on wood r4. Here is a link: http://filetrip.net/f11513-%28Wood-R4%29-Save-Converter-1-2.html. There are instructions on the site.

you just have to rename the sav's form xxx.SAV to xxx.nds.sav

 

That's also an option, but it's takes quite some time if you have a lot of roms.
