My requirements are pretty low. If it has at least 2 gbs of ram and a dual core processor, i'd be interested in it.

I'd like to keep the price below $450 though.

Here is one computer that i am thinking of buying. It would be a major upgrade from what i have now. Any other models that i should be considering?

you should get a computer out of that. maybe with 1.5 GB and probably a slow duo core. if it's a gaming desktop then don't even think about it if you're on that kind of a budget

you could get a desktop within that budget but it won't last a year. I prefer mine top of the line

    1.) AMD Phenom II X2 555 3.2Ghz AM3
    2.) Asus M2N68-AM Plus DDR2/A/V/GBLan
    3.) Kingston 2GB PC6400 DDR2 800
    4.) Samsung 1TB 7200rpm SATA
    5.) Samsung DVDRW SH-222A 22X IDE
    6.) Artic 5827 ATX 600W

just for testing and some gaming so i dont much care about the specs. also, it has multiboot.

This is the next cheapest one with specs most similar ton what ya picked. I know it's over $450, but it's the next cheapest from the same manufacturer, so i figured i'd save ya the time of finding it. :p

Just a quick question... Generally speaking, how reliable are refurbished/reconditioned HP pc's purchased from Tigerdirect? I've found a lovely computer that, with just a new video card, would make a excellent mid-range gaming computer. Even using stock video card, its a low end. Stock is a integrated Radeon 4200.

    Here it is. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6825709&CatId=5138

Oh, and before anyone says anything, I already know that a triple core is just a bad quad with the bad core disabled.

Here is the one i was wanting to get orginally. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229209

Should i go with the refirb or wait for the new one to restock? I've used HP's for a long time and they are pretty damn reliable with my first one lasting 5 years and my current one still running after 4 years. Both saw VERY heavy usage. Of course, they were both Presario's while the one im looking at is a Pavilion.

I'll take that as a go for it. Now i just need to get the money together before they are out of stock.
