Basicly I just got a new dsi and im new to the DS, i was wondering were I could get a cheap card. Do the scan disc cards for £5 on ebay work? or do they have bad compatibility? I have read the stickys etc. I will be ordering the csard from the UK if thats any help! Aslo can I play my back up games via wifi? Thanks for any info or output given and the time to read :)

NDS-Gear is probably your best bet.

And seriously dude, the Acekard 2i is the best card if you're looking for something cheap and simple to play games.
R4's are absolutely terrible, and the smaller "brands" are even worse.

Acekard 2i is probably the best card for the price, but be aware it can suffer with contact issues and also there are fakes/clones going around.

So wherever you purchase it from make sure they sell only genuine acekards.

    1. Bought all my cards from here: http://www.gamekool.com/3ds-flashcart-c-31.html Everything is working fine.
    2. what is scan disc card? I don't think the scan disc cards can work, just buy a normal flashcart.
    3. yes, you can play your back up games via wifi
    4. back to your topic, if you want to buy a R4 card, then jut buy the wood r4i gold (official site is r4ids.cn), if you don't care about the brand, the acekard 2i is a good choose as well.

You need a flashcart for a DSi so to purchase an R4i is not recommended go with the acekard 2i.

Your friend that has the DSLite, would be ok with the R4 that is compatable with the Wood firmware, as Wood has great support and game compatability.

EDIT: The link from your previous post has an R4 which is compatable with the Wood firmware http://www.dsr4.co.uk/

I haven't bought an acekard for quite a while so i wouldn't like to give advice on how to purchase an original, sorry.

The R4 in your link is fine for the DSLite.

Just be aware that the R4 doesn't support SDHC. Any R4s that do claim to support it will be unofficial, and therefore have terrible compatability. So that one you wanna get for the DS Lite is fine, as long as you don't mind being limited to 2GB. The Acekard2i supports SDHC, so size isn't an issue with that.

Is the site safe tho? Can anyone reccomend a safe site for the acekard2i and a regular r4 flash card? possibly in the UK or eurorpe.

Should I update my dsi before the card arrives? How would I find out what firmware my dsi is on? Because my dsi doesnt seem to load some games but loads others, currently ive noticed it doesnt play mario kart, tetris, or mario party the carts seem like the originals, perhaps there fake?

When you start up your DSi select system settings and the version should be on the top screen, I would not update the DSi before the acekard arrives in case your DSi can update the acekard instead of you looking for a DS/Lite to update the card with.

Don't know why you are not able to play a game like mario kart on it.
