Loading menu... error: not format!

hey i really need some help... i havent got a clue how to fix it and im getting scared by all these big technical words :-/

Korg DS synthesizer wouldnt work on my Ncard so my boyfriend tried to update the firmware (i think) and i dont know what hes done i think he forgot to put the menu file on or something but now when i select the Ncard from the DS menu i get the message:
"Loading menu...
error: not format!"

i dont know what that means but because the menu wont come up i cant even choose usb mode to look at the files on the PC...

i hope someone can help, ive trawled the internet and nothing i read makes sense to me :-[

 

I had that problem before but it was an R4. I had to buy another chip because my chip was corrupted by that similar message. If you're not able to access your chip on computer then it's corrupted. You can't play that one again even if you try to google it or try to solve it yourself. No matter what you do, you can't recover it. So you have to buy a chip, the chip where you put your usb in(small one) and start all over again. I recommend next time to back up your ds files because I didn't before and now, I backed up my files just in case it happens again.
