I'm thinking about starting a website completely written in HTML. I wrote the homepage in OpenOffice.org Writer on Linux. When I opened it up on Firefox it was COMPLETELY screwed up. I opened it in OpenOffice again and it was fine. Reloading it on Firefox was no help. Since I was using Linux, I tried Rekonq, but it was glitched too. Here are screenshots:

I think it had something to do with the fact that I wanted a background (see OpenOffice image). Is this it or not? If you know the problem and how to fix it please post.

    Thanks for answers,

you're seeing the reason you don't use a word processor for writing html. text editors work, word processors don't. try using nano or joe instead.

    Okay, I'll try that.

EDIT: Worked with Kate and Firefox after proofreading. Thanks Loonylion!
