Link play ds vs ds qustion

I just got umk3 on ds recently, and decided to vs my little brother using a REAL copy...and no go, no bars, and yet when WE BOTH quit out, it shows one little bar as we exit...

I am using acekard 2.1 with akio firmware, and yes ds download play is enabled and that feature does work, it is a problem that had wreacked both mk3's ability to vs other ppl offline or a glitch in the game code itself?

 

Most likely just an incompatibility in Normmatt's firmware.

 

...What's that mean exactly I am still noobish to all of this...

I did a slight diagnostic, the games both can go online, and remember that (not sure if what my post said this already) but the "bars" glitch happenend to both real and fake games...

Any way to confirm this, and it seems to work fine on everything else (did fake contra to real contra 4, works fine, but fake crashes if host, real one doesn't) .

..If there is a solution that doesn't requireing pulling anything apart I'd like to know...i have the need to pummel my brother with smoke!
