Ok folks, what do you guys think about Blizzard?
DO you think they are as good as they were in the past?
    Will they totally screw-up?
What do you like and hate about them?

I made this thread due to the current hate for Blizzard by many gamers out there.
Well, there are things that i don't like about them but there is no denial that they are among the few developers that still dedicated to the PC.

Koreans love them. They know it.

They ignored everything for so long when World of Warcraft came out. Rather than continue to grow and develop other games like other companies did when they released their MMO, Blizzard ignored everything. So much so that the Diablo team left to create their game. Which happened to fail without the horde of Blizzard fans waiting in line to buy it and play it.

And finally they are coming out with new games. Which will succeed regardless of how repetitive or boring they may be because they carry the Blizzard title :)

Blizzard is the greatest company in the world. I love all of their games! I think they'll grow even bigger in the near future, hopefully with cata(clysms)

Sorry for the thirty day rule. This seemed like a cool thread

I grew up on Warcraft II and Starcraft, and I still love them.. I was impressed by WCIII and the Diablo series. But I hate Wow, and think that their success will last for a good while, but after they release Starcraft II and Diablo III they'll fall to the waist side and they'll lose their power..I think they were great, and still are pretty good, but everyone is holding on for SCII and Diablo III, just cause those are very popular and long awaited sequels.

ouch this is old, Sorry.. lol

they've been going downhill rapidly since they sold out to activision/vivendi, no denying it.

I forgot about that. Activision is such an evil company. They've ruined soooo many games...Guitar hero, most notably. I suddenly don't like WoW as much...

I've been blizzard sober since Jan 09. Thank god.
I think they're going downhill...lets see how they'll bring back their fanbase as WoW dies.
I have a bunch of friends who work within the company as GMs/Programmers/Designers. The company is pretty nice inside... its literally like WoW... scenery and all.

They put lots of effort and hard work to create these games, making heaps of players addicted. This could be a bad thing if you're too addicted.

Hell yes, totally considering that they haven't made a game since the WoW expansion.

I don't like Blizzard's types of games, I don't like Diablo or Starcraft or Warcraft. But to ignore everything but WoW for a while? Ugh, gross, that's mean.

I agree, I liked diablo and starcraft and warcraft, but Wc 2&3 are unplayable to me now, they haven't aged well imo. I don't hold out much hope for Sc 2 either.

I liked some parts of Starcraft, like building management and gathering resources and creating a large army just to thwart the enemy with 30 of each unit. I find that fun, I think Starcraft 2 supports more than selecting 15 units, so then I don't have to select a group, move, etc etc.

That being said, I hated the parts where I didn't have any building management, along with that multiplayer + RTS + me = fail. And that being said, I still don't really enjoy Starcraft for a long period of time, eventually it got boring and I uninstalled it.

I played a second of Diablo 2, and I thought to myself [click here, click here, why hasn't there been a 1680 x 1050 res patch yet?, this isn't fun yet]. Granted I'm not excited for either Diablo 3 or Starcraft 2, but I'll try them eventually, for sure.

It's definitely true that the games have aged. I never played Starcraft in multiplayer because I always forget to be aggressive in RTS games (focus too much on building fortresses) Diablo is a turn your brain off mindless grinding game. I preferred it to MMORPGs because there's less pressure. Having said all that, unless they bring some new stuff to these games they're not going to be any good.

I don't see much in the way of being different in Starcraft 2, but I'll reserve my judgment for when the game comes out whenever it does.

I think Diablo 3 has a co-op type thing going on, so if that's the case the game is on my radar, I like playing games with my hubby.

Co-op can make games awesome. Ever play Champions of Norrath on the PS2?
