Has anyone played any of the legacy of kain games by Crystal Dynamics (excpet for the first one which was developed by Silicon Knights) I've played Soul reaver 1 & 2.

I'm into Vampires & gory stuff, but Legacy of Kain is just plain disturbing for me.

I played all Soul Reaver games and I must say, they are really awesome. The storyline is really good. I loved the characters and the game all in all was just great. I really enjoyed it.

Whats so disturbing about them ? I love the series especially the voice acting.

I only played the first Soul Reaver game, that first boss made up off clumps of human body parts was disturbing.

The Legacy of Kain series has to be one of my all time favorite for consoles. The prologue to the first Soul Reaver is the greatest introduction to a game I've ever played through.

Yup I've got the 'Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver' on PS1 made by Crystal Dynamics. Its really interactive (pick up environment objects and impale people, light things on fire, or throw them at walls and depending on the surface they will stick in or fall to the ground etc) and its a fun game, although you can get lost if you don't pay attention. Nice features and a rather good game to just sit back and chill with :D Haven't played the new ones though..

The games were too "dark" for me, I like dark themed games but Soul Reaver was way beyond my comfort zone. The blend of the macabre & surrealism didn't go well for me.

I've only managed to play bits and pieces of essentially every game in the series. Never finished any of them sadly.

I think I still have copies of Blood Omen and Soul Reaver around so I might just start playing those again at some point, although I've already got a rather large backlog these days so I have no idea when I'd get around to it. :p

Ive played all the legacy games, aswell as the fan made games. The ending to Defiance was upsetting, but i guess it still leaves room for a fourth game. I must say that Raziel is my all time favourite fictional character.

I did play Blood Omen2, it was cool in the beginning but gets quite repetitive after a while.

That's probably my favorite series. Only one I couldn't stand was Blood Omen 2 even though the story was canon after Defiance. I wish the games stayed like the original Soul Reaver and Soul Reaver 2. I didn't like the switch they made to Defiance as much as most people enjoyed it. I'm more into the full 3D exploration of SR1 and 2.
