i've been eager to get left 4 dead. it is an fps game and it's something i would never ever buy. but there is a third person option instead of the first person mode. i also like that 28 days/weeks later idea to the game. before i jump in purchasing this game, does anyone know what type or what sort of protection they are using on the product. if you look at mass effect, their drm protection requires you to have an active online connection to make verification of the authenticity of the game. does left 4 dead work the same way? or does it do things the old fashion way of disc protection? this drm fiasco is driving me crazy. every game i want to buy i'm very cautious because i don't have any net connection to my game machine. asking the store agent is useless as they don't know thenselves.
If you typed that post up while you were sitting at home, then perhaps the idea of router and extended LAN cable never popped into your head? Also, why would you ever EVER ask the store clerk regarding technical questions of a game? If you were browsing around and all of a sudden, a question comes up regarding technical aspects of any given product, the store clerks (as well as "tech guys") are the last people you would ever want to ask such help from. Do yourself a favor, take note of that question(s) that you have, leave the store empty-handed, and go home and Google it up. And then once you have your answers, go back to the store armed with full knowledge of the product if you really want to buy it.
