    Hello :)

Tomorrow I wanted to boot up the laptop of ours.
It did nothing besides making weird sounds (beeping and the fan again).

Now, my mom wants to boot it up and neither now it won't boot.
The light of the Hard Drive lights up, but it does nothing.
It doesn't show the BIOS nor boot Windows.

    Laptop: Acer Aspire 9300
OS: Windows XP SP2 (which isn't booting)

Have you tried Safe Mode: How can we?

We tried removing the battery but that didn't help.

Does anyone know how to solve this?

its some form of hardware failure, if it wont even power on then its probably unfixable.

    It will power on.
Can you maybe say what part?
    I hope not the HDD...

If it is the HDD, then that would be easy to replace it. The motherboard is what seems to be the problem if the bios doesn't even boot.

You may just need to get a new laptop altogether unfortunately...

most repair people will tell you its a dead motherboard i.e unfixable and immediately try to sell you a new laptop.

Does the screen light up and does anything appear on it?

The screen is loose, but I doubt it broke.
    Besides beeping it does nothing...
The screen stays like it's not powered on...
(sorry for my slow response, I was riding on my dads new scooter xD)

can you describe the beeping? what happens if you try plugging a monitor into the laptop?

I had a similar problem with my desktop and it turned out to be dead ram which normally wouldn't be a problem but they where dual channel which requires ram to be in matching pairs but you say it beeps? the beeps are probably a bios error code, if you know what mother board or bios you have you can probably look up the meaning of the beeps.

    Nothing.

    The beeping is like
    BEEP beepbeepbeepbeep
then it stops. Just like an alarm.

yeah sounds like it could be a bios error code.

    For the fan:
It sometimes starts doing the same, but NOT at bootup.

    It is more like
    ZzzzzzKrrghzzzzkrgh (now at bootup)
    Then
    Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz (normally at bootup)

yes that beeping could be an error code but without knowing what the bios is we're not going to find out what it means.

    What model is your laptop?

My 360 was doing that once when I stopped up the fans...I just let it sit for a week or so until my "repair kit" came. They worked after that, but it still doesn't work...

Erhm, I just removed the sticker a few days ago (it was annoying and hot)...I'll try looking in the PC Specs thread...

It's a laptop right? The Acer Aspire One is what I have, but that's a netbook.

Did it have the latest bios revision, or was it never updated?
