Well, as you can see and as the title says, the laptop screen is gray. This just happened yesterday at a random time, so I don't know what caused it. My mother suggested (much to my doubt) overheating. Though I thought it might be a pressure exerted too much on the screen or possibly a software problem. Unfortunately, that's the only information I have as of now.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that lines constantly appeared and disappeared on the screen yesterday. It came along with the gray part of the screen, but it seemed to affect the whole screen and not just the gray part. But that problem fixed its own, anyway. I just thought it might be related to why the screen turned gray.

my first guess would be your screen has two backlights and one of them has failed.

I see...So there's no choice but to let a computer repairshop fix it. Are there any other possibilities, just in case?

I cant think of anything that would be end user repairable, I'd say its definitely a hardware issue.

So is it still repairable even if one of the backlights failed?

backlight can probably be replaced by someone with the proper tools and knowledge, yes.
