well, me again, my sister seems to be having a problem with her laptop, after about 2-3 minutes of loading up windows vista, it starts to beep repeatedly and makes a weird noise after every beep, it then proceeds to bluescreen, turn itself off and restart, it then stays stuck on the starting screen. it's a dell vostro 1520(not too amazing i know), anyway, does anyone know what the problem is, or how i can fix it?
any help will be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Motherboard beeps usually mean hardware issues, if I remember correctly.

Does the system boot into safe mode at all?

before it makes the beeping sounds and crashes, yes, after that it stays stuck at the bios loading screen.

Have you added memory lately and does the blue screen give a reason for the shut down?

Hope its not some kind of virus or malware thats ate your system up. might not hurt to get it checked out, or if you have spare parts handy try changing the hard drive, memory and so forth just to see if any changes occur.

it wont be a virus, viruses cannot damage hardware.

I thought some viruses can lock up hard drives and so forth? or is that just some myth as I have never encountered it personally but I have heard of such things.

    software cannot destroy hardware.

Try finding out what BIOS the laptop uses, then search the internet for the beep codes for it. This should tell you what hardware seems to have the problem.

    You should try Re-Installing Vista.
    And Re-Format.

i have already tried to reformat it and install vista, that has not helped. i have run a diagnostic program that the laptop came with, and it said the hardrive was fine, still no clue what the problem is.

i'm afraid there was some components that melt 'cause of the heat ... you should hurry up and bring that laptop to the service center.
