i found this device called the Vidock2 it allows you to upgrade your laptops graphics card through you laptops express card slot. it works by using any desktop graphics card that you put in the vidock and then connect it to a monitor. it also has 7.1 digital surround sound. the price isn't too bad ether. $100 to buy it without a graphics card and $300 to buy it with a ati Radeon 4670 Card. links vidock2 websie where to buy site(you can also google for other stores. youtube vid 1 youtube vid 2
the expresscard port is very slow by comparison to a regular PCI-E slot. So don't expect a huge improvement. Also it can't run high end cards that require a separate power connection.
You should rather save your money for a desktop rather than trying to upgrade your laptop. This solution is just wasted money IMO.
This is the best idea. Laptops are not designed with gaming or upgrades in mind-they are for portability and work related uses. I'm just lucky with mine..it can do resident evil 5 (with lowest settings) and has built in blueray playback-so I don't even need a ps3 XD
Wow, an upgrade for laptops. now i can watch HD youtube clips on my old laptop. hm... how can you get a portable desktop? everybody seems to know of those portable desktops that they insist on saving money to buy a desktop instead of the laptop.... I'm trying to search online for a all-in-one desktop that is portable.
