On my hp laptop, the logo on the back is usually lit up when the laptop is in use, then goes off when i shut the lid. However, recently the logo stays on when shut. Ive tried exiting out of all open windows, but nothing seems to help. Isthere anything i can do to revert it to turning off when appropriate without voiding the warranty?
sounds like its not entering standby/hibernate, check what the lid close action is configured to in power management.
i'm not 100% sure that was it. i reset all the power settings to factory default, and the light still stayed on. i even tried shutting down via the start menu, but the light persisted. i just now tried restarting, and so far it seems to work, until i somehow likely jinx myself
