ok me and my two sisters each got a compaq laptop with hp wireless(and a nice nvidia graffics card for me :D)anyway both my sisters wireless isn't working and they cant connect to the internet i tried to do a system restore, nothing happened,i tried to reinstall the hp wireless assistant it didn't work and said "fatal error during installation",and then i tried rebooting it and when it turned back on...nothing.can someone help me fix this before people start to blame me .they never download anything so i don't think they have a virus(also i brought avg over to one of their computers with a flash drive and ran a scan to see is they did and they didn't) so i dont see what it could be we all use the same router so why is mine working?

have you confirmed that all of the network settings, IPs, WPA/WEP passwords are correct. Check if the laptops have static IPs set up, since no two networked items on a local network can have the same IP you may be getting conflict, though I doubt this is a problem since your PC should have notified you when settin up the connection.

On another note can the two laptops see the wifi connection? and do they correctly connect to the internet if you connect them directly to the router via an Ethernet cable?

all passcodes are correct the ip is dynamic not static and i cant see right now because well ill wake up my parents if i go in the room to plug theirs in i did take it outside and walked to the end of the street to get somebody else's signal and it wouldn't connect it shows the bars but it says that there was some sort of error

Try dial-up. If that doesn't work then it's just a laptop thing.

It probably only needed to be reset. I also have a Compaq Presario Wireless Laptop and I had that problem once. Good thing they are fixed now.
