    Such a good book series.

Let's see, I thought the Eragon book series was good fantasy. Shanara series by Terry Brooks is very big and I thought good but get's a bit repetitive after awhile.

The pictures are so weird in those books.

I laughed at them. Some girl presumably screamed to death because her skirt got caught on something.

    My childhood was no fun.

Try some Terry Pratchett discworld novels "Rincewind the Wizzard" Omnibus would be a good start on his earlier works or "Good Omens" with Pratchett and Neil Gaiman

Try some of Tamora Pierce's books!
I found the Circle of Magic series and it's sequels to be quite good.

You could also try some of Edgar Allan Poe's work.

I named a few in Cahos' thread link but let me just add Jim Butcher's Dresden Files series. There are three different types of vampires in the series and Harry gets to kill em all in creative ways. Turns out the flamethrower isn't a good idea.

Kinda surprised no one's mentioned "Harry Potter" yet, so I'm gonna suggest that. I also agree with those who said "The Dresden Files", "Discworld", "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", and "Good Omens". Those are also really good.
