jewel quest 2, 4 and 5 stuck on loading screen please help, i don't have a clue!

    hi there

    i am new to downloading games for my sons r4 cards and have just learnt how to do it!! the jewel quest games that i have download for me are getting stuck on the loading page.

    there is a nds file and a sav file so wasn't sure if i just had to wait longer although it seemed like i had waited long enough!!

    is there something i need to do or is it just a case of waiting, also moshi monsters is doing the same!

    please help as i don't know what to do!!!

    Try installing the following firmware on the r4: http://filetrip.net/nds-downloads/flashcart-files/download-wood-r4-151-f30587.html

    @ladybird can you specify which R4 model is yours? there are several hundred models and only a fee are compatible with wood, in case yours is a clone use Ysmenu: http://filetrip.net/h25123605-RetroGameFan-Multi-Cart-Update.html

    hi there and thanks for your replies,

    i bought the card with games pre loaded onto it so i haven't had to anything to it only put it in the ds and play!!! so this firmware is new to me? will i be ok just updating the existing firmware and that all games will still play and then the ones that weren't playing start to play?

    the r4 card doesn't have a sticker on it at all so i don't know which one it is only that it is pink red in colour, could be that it is a clone then? so i know for future which card would be good to buy?

    more information for you, when i open the r4 card on the laptop it states the following :

    boys games
    _rpg
    moonmemo
    moonshl2
    r4i menu
    _ds_menu.dat
    r4.dat

    i had just seen http://forum.romulation.net/index.php?topic=39701.0 this morning and was thinking of going from there, but thanks for you help, it is just a normal ds lite too and will upgrade to the other cards when i am back off my hols!!

    Your cart content shows 'r4i menu', so that indicates your cart is 'R4i' just that there are a number of different carts with the name starting with 'R4i'; it could be 'R4i SDHC', 'R4i SDHC 3DS', 'R4i Upgrade SDHC', 'R4i Upgrade 3DS', etc. In any case, I doubt your cart is one that is supported by WOOD R4 (secondary firmware), your best bet is to add TTMENU/YSMENU (secondary firmware) as provided by Duncan Idaho; or check our forum topic : http://forum.romulation.net/index.php?topic=43121.0

    Download the file provided by Retrogamefan, in it you will find several folders, copy the content of the folder labelled 'R4_SDHC - R4i_SDHC'. Run the TTMENU.nds or YSMENU.nds before loading the game rom. By the way.....back up the content of your SD Micro before adding those files in the folder, just for precaution in the event you accidentally overwrite a file or two.
